In other words, we can use the principals of ABA to teach new skills that are important to learn (such as communication, academic skills, paying attention, and so on). Looking at things through the "lens" of ABA also gives us tools for understanding problem behaviors and teaching new skills to replace them. Note: “behaviors” refers to anything that a person does that is directly observable. This includes behaviors in categories such as social skills (eye contact, greeting others, etc.), academic skills (completing math homework, spelling your name), and challenging behaviors (yelling or kicking).
